In today’s marketplace, there are a some possible alternatives to point of load applications. This slide reviews some of these options, while the following slide will explain the practical advantages of using point of load converters. DOSA is the Distributed-Power Open Standards Alliance. These standards offer unique vendor designs based on a common point of load specification. POLA stands for Point of Load Alliance. Similar to DOSA, it offers a common point of load specification. The last design release was 4 years ago and there is no apparent future development.
