Shown on this slide are some key selling points of the Channel Link II SerDes. In regard to signal quality, Channel Link II devices have signal conditioning to enable long reach over low cost cable. The data is also coded to enable AC coupling of the signal and to allow the receiver to lock without the need for training patterns. This product offers EMI mitigation through spread spectrum clocking and differential data transmission. TI offers robust devices that have high ESD tolerance and work over a wide industrial temperature range. They are easy to use devices that do not need a training or initialization sequence.
