The BIOMETRIC-EXP-EVB card provides a convenient development and demo platform for Silicon Labs’ Si114x Optical Sensors and Si701x/2x Relative Humidity and Temperature Sensors. The card plugs directly into the expansion header of the EFM32™ Wonder Gecko Starter Kit.

Place your finger tip on the Si1146 sensor to measure heart rate and blood oxygen level. Environmental sensing of UV Index, relative humidity, and temperature is also provided. The optional HRM-GGG-PS postage stamp board connects to the BIOMETRIC-EXP-EVB with an I2C cable to provide wearable wrist based heart rate monitoring.

Image of Zero Gecko Starter KitThe new SLSTK3201A contains both the EFM32™ Zero Gecko Starter Kit and sensor expansion board. The expansion board contains Silicon Labs’ Si7013 Relative Humidity and Temperature Sensor, Si1147 Proximity/UV/Ambient Light Sensor, and all IR LEDs and optomechanical components necessary for development of gesture and proximity applications. For power management, the expansion card also features a Silicon Labs Touchstone TS3310 DC/DC converter.

The SLSTK3201A is fully supported within Simplicity Studio for fast prototyping and development. A complete weather station application demonstrates relative humidity, temperature and/or UV index measurements and 2D gesture control. Source code is provided within Simplicity Studio, which allows developers to get up and running quickly with their own designs.

 

Environmental and Biometric Sensor Puck with Bluetooth Low Energy and iOS/Android App

The SENSOR-PUCK provides a convenient development and demo platform for Silicon Labs’ Si114x Optical Sensors and Si701x/2x Relative Humidity and Temperature Sensors. The coin-cell battery operated SENSOR-PUCK is controlled by an EFM32™ energy friendly MCU. A Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) module is used to broadcast sensor data to iOS or Android smartphones with the downloadable SENSOR-PUCK app. Place your finger tip over the Si1147 sensor to measure heart rate. Environmental sensing of UV Index, ambient light, relative humidity, and temperature is also provided. For power management, the board features a Touchstone TS3310 boost DC/DC converter.

Silicon Labs' low energy SLSTK3400A provides an excellent tool to get familiar with the EFM32™ USB-enabled Happy Gecko 32-bit microcontrollers (MCUs), the industry’s most energy-friendly MCU based on the ARM® Cortex®-M0+ processor.

Supported by Simplicity Studio, the starter kit contains sensors and peripherals, touch-buttons, LEDs, Si7021 Digital Relative Humidity and Temperature Sensor, memoryLCD and simplicity header, demonstrating some of the MCU's many capabilities and can serve as a starting point for application development. The SLSTK3400A includes AEM (Advanced Energy Monitoring) and the Energy Profiler capabilities allowing real-time energy profiling of your application. The Silicon Labs EZR32 Leopard Gecko Wireless Starter Kit is an excellent starting point to evaluate and develop on the EZR32 Leopard Gecko Wireless MCUs. The core of the WSTK6200 is the Wireless Starter Kit (WSTK) Mainboard (BRD4001) which feature an on-board J-Link debugger, an Advanced Energy Monitor for real-time current and voltage monitoring, a Virtual COM port interface, and access to the Packet Trace Interface (PTI).

The WSTK Mainboard is paired with an EZR32 Leopard Gecko radio board that plugs directly into the mainboard. The radio board feature the EZR32 Leopard Gecko itself and the RF interface. All debug functionality, including AEM, VCOM and PTI, can also be used towards an external target instead of the included radio board. To further enhance the WSTK usability, the WSTK Mainboard contains sensors and peripherals demonstrating some of the Wireless MCU's many capabilities.
