KEMET TRS and OHD Thermal Sensors | DigiKey Daily

Kemet offers their TRS and OHD thermal sensors for monitoring temperature and maintaining stable operation. The TRS sensors are thermal Reed switches which are highly-reliable and precise temperature-sensitive switches. The OHD sensors are well-suited for thermal problem countermeasures and safety standard conformity. Both temperature devices include a unique proprietary design which features a magnet and temperature-sensing soft ferromagnetic substance called Thermorite. The material's magnetic flux density decreases as the temperature increases, turning it into a paramagnetic substance at the Curie temperature. Ideal applications for the TRS thermal Reed switch include temperature detection and overheat monitoring of electric appliances. The OHD thermal guard sensors are well suited for protecting devices such as motors, power modules, room heaters, and power transistors.
