Woodhead ArcArrest 30 A and 60 A Switch-Rated Connector System

Molex incorporates many options and components into a smooth, contoured design, the Woodhead ArcArrest switch-rated connector system delivers the simplest and fastest way to de-energize industrial machines and equipment and perform lockout/tagout operations. All critical components are heavily glass-reinforced with 100% Valox materials. These connectors are NEMA 4X and IP69k rated, eliminating ingress of dust and water in a variety of harsh industrial environments. Sealing is automatic when connected and they achieve sealing while disengaged with closed receptacle lid and plug. They reach 600 V_AC (max) UL 2682 switch ratings

Unlike standard connectors, switch-rated devices listed under UL 2682 can operate as switches and be used to disconnect loads while energized. When operated under load, arcing will occur between the male and female contacts, which they can withstand without damage. The user is completely shielded from this energy because the plug maintains a connection with the receptacle during operation. A twisting motion must be applied by the user to remove the plug after the circuit has been interrupted. The UL test requires this live switching to occur for 6,000 cycles. This proves the connector’s ability to last for many years in a typical industrial application.

The plug and receptacle are easily locked out to provide fast and positive lock-out/tag-out of machinery. The lock-out hole in the male plug is designed for 1/4" or 5/16" lock shank diameter. The lock-out hole in the receptacle is designed specifically for 1/4" lock shank diameter. Locks are not included.
