Image of Diotec Semiconductor MMTL431A Adjustable Precision Shunt RegulatorThe MMTL431A by Diotec Semiconductor is an adjustable precision shunt regulator in a SOT-23/TO-236 case outline. It offers a temperature-compensated voltage reference of 2.495 V at ±0.5% tolerance. With only a few external components, it can be adjusted up to 36 V, in a current range from 1 mA to 100 mA. It is typically used for secondary side control of converters, but also as a temperature-compensated voltage reference for voltage regulators and comparators. It further can replace low-voltage zener diodes (below 9.1 V), which normally have rather "round" characteristics and as such no more a real "zener" behavior. The MMTL431A offers instead an extremely sharp curve with almost no temperature drift. That makes it ideally suited for precision measurement devices.
